Traditions from Ukraine with a New Taste: How TM Galychyna is Conquering European Markets at ANUGA 2023
Dairy company Galychyna is one of the leaders in the Ukrainian fermented dairy products market. For the first time, the company participated as an exhibitor at the international ANUGA 2023 trade fair in Germany, showcasing its natural fermented dairy products, including yogurts and dairy drinks, which sparked significant interest among European partners.
Preparation ahead of ANUGA 2023
Participating in a large-scale event like ANUGA 2023 required serious preparation and a strategic approach. The company adapted its product catalogs for the international market, designed a booth, and prepared samples for tasting. Special attention was given to the quality of both the presentation materials and the products, as the goal was not only to showcase them but also to leave a lasting impression on European consumers.
«We handled the preparations excellently, and thanks to the organizers of Ukraine's National Pavilion, all issues were resolved quickly. This allowed us to focus on the most important part—communication with potential partners,» the company noted.
What Did Galychyna Present?
ANUGA 2023 was a significant step for the company Galychyna. European visitors were attracted by the wide range of dairy products, already well-established on the Ukrainian market: drinking and dessert yogurts, cream and long-life milk, kefir, fermented baked milk (ryazhenka), plant-based products, butter, and sour cream.
«Our yogurts received great admiration from visitors, and the tastings introduced guests to our unique Ukrainian flavors. There was also particular interest in our long-life products, which are perfect for export to Europe,» the company emphasized.
As a result of the exhibition, two contracts were signed with Italian and Dutch partners for the supply of long-life products: milk and cream, as well as drinking and dessert yogurts. Additionally, negotiations are ongoing with clients from Germany, Belgium, France, and Romania.
«Today, our company has ambitious goals to conquer the EU market. We believe that our products are high-quality, healthy, and delicious. Our main goal is to proudly represent Ukrainian producers on the international stage and promote our country,» noted representatives of TM Galychyna.
In response to European partners' interest, the company is preparing for expansion.
«Currently, we process 300 tons of milk daily, and we are already planning to increase this figure by 30%. This will open up new opportunities for us and allow us to expand our presence in international markets,» added representatives of TM Galychyna.
Future Plans: Expansion into the European Market
Entering the European markets is just the beginning for Galychyna. Following their successful participation in ANUGA 2023, the company aims to continue expanding exports, not only to the EU but also to Asian markets.
The company's leadership mentioned that they plan to actively participate in leading international exhibitions to expand their client base and introduce products to new markets:
«Scaling up is one of the company's key priorities, and our production capacities allow us to realize these ambitious plans».
The company is also actively developing the Private Label sector, creating new products for European countries.
Advice for Other Participants
Galychyna emphasizes the importance of courage and strategy for successfully entering international markets and is ready to share its experience and recommendations with Ukrainian companies planning to expand globally. Here are the key tips from the team:
«The most important thing is not to fear entering new markets. These are new challenges, but at the same time, they present opportunities to gain experience and promote your products and Ukraine as a whole. When working with European clients, be prepared for their slow decision-making processes. Patience and time are key to successfully signing contracts. During this period, you can thoroughly prepare: assess competitors, study legal requirements, and adapt your products to meet the standards. It's also essential to build a strong team for participating in exhibitions. The overall result depends on the success of the team. Each team member should clearly understand their tasks, and it's important that one of the company's representatives speaks the language of the country where the exhibition is held. When preparing for the exhibition, focus on your best products—choose 5-7 top items that will be the most competitive. And, of course, don't be afraid to engage with customers. Exhibition visitors are looking for something special. Believe in your product and confidently showcase its advantages».
Conclusion
Participating in the ANUGA 2023 exhibition was a significant milestone for the dairy company Galychyna, strengthening its international position and opening new opportunities for expansion. The signed contracts and successful negotiations with European partners are just the beginning of a long journey to new markets. The company continues to grow, scale up production, and represent Ukraine through its high-quality products.
