In 2025, Ukraine officially joined the European network of Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIHs). Each hub has its own profile, team, and focus on specific regions or industries.
Clotex-HUB — is one of them — dedicated to driving the digital transformation of Ukraine’s light industry. The team brings together business, education, and research to create the right conditions for the sector’s innovative growth.
Ukraine is confidently integrating into the European digital space: Clotex-HUB became one of the first Ukrainian hubs to join the European EDIH network. This milestone opened up new opportunities for enterprises in the country’s western regions — from access to technologies and funding to participation in joint European projects.
European Digital Innovation Hubs are an EU initiative designed to accelerate the digitalisation of SMEs, foster innovation, and promote the adoption of advanced technologies. The network unites leading hubs from across the EU — and now also from Ukraine. Membership provides access to cross-border markets, international partners, collaborative projects, and expert support.
Joining this network is not only recognition of Clotex-HUB’s capacity as a digital provider but also a step towards deeper digital integration of the Ukrainian industry with Europe. The hub is actively involved in international initiatives, knowledge exchange, and large-scale digital transformation projects that extend beyond production to encompass education and research as well.
Clotex-HUB focuses on digital transformation in light industry, mechanical engineering, and cybersecurity. Supported by the European Commission under the Digital Europe Programme, its activities include:
Clotex-HUB acts as a bridge between manufacturers, technology providers, universities, and European partners.
Clotex-HUB is the result of collaboration among leading Ukrainian institutions in education, technology, production, and digitalisation. The consortium includes:
Khmelnytskyi National University (KhNU) — coordinator of Clotex-HUB and one of Ukraine’s leading universities in light industry, engineering, and digital technologies. It provides scientific, educational, and technological expertise, as well as infrastructure for testing and deploying innovations. KhNU is the intellectual backbone for developing digital competencies in the textile and apparel sector.
NGO Sustainable Development Agency “ASTAR” — an open platform for cooperation between government, business, education, research, and civil society, grounded in principles of sustainability and democracy.
Podillia Fashion Cluster — an association of garment manufacturers, designers, educational institutions, and creative initiatives driving the development of the regional fashion industry. It ensures close contact with SMEs, brings innovations into practice, and promotes digital services among local businesses.
Khmelnytskyi IT Cluster — unites leading IT companies and technical experts in the region. It provides Clotex-HUB with expertise in artificial intelligence, cloud solutions, cybersecurity, and machine learning. Thanks to this partnership, advanced digital technologies are integrated into traditional production, creating innovative solutions for Ukrainian enterprises.
For Ukrainian companies, especially SMEs, collaboration with the hub is a unique opportunity to:
access consultations and digital maturity assessments;
test innovative solutions and equipment before investing;
receive expert guidance in selecting technologies that match real business needs;
integrate into European value chains and find partners within the EDIH network;
strengthen competitiveness through digital solutions;
get support in finding investors and funding for digital transformation, as well as for developing new digital services and
business models;
connect with innovation ecosystems and gain access to European markets.
In its first six months, Clotex-HUB has become an active driver of digital transformation in the region’s industry. It has already launched a wide range of support services — from digital diagnostics and innovation consulting to mentoring, training programmes, and grant application support.
The first 20 companies have undergone digital assessments, participated in training, and gained access to technological solutions. Clotex-HUB has also advanced international integration, building partnerships with European EDIHs in France, Poland, Romania, Spain, Estonia, and Norway.
Its representatives participated in major European events such as the EDIH Network Annual Summit, Digital Innovation Zone Conference 3.0, Future Fashion Forum, EU Industry Days, and IA Summit — showcasing the potential of Ukrainian producers and opening new channels for cooperation.
The hub is shaping an innovation-driven environment where local companies can access knowledge, technologies, and the European business community. Clotex-HUB is not only about innovation — it is about building a new digital industry in Ukraine, capable of competing globally. It is changing the game for regional enterprises by providing them with access to digitalisation, innovation, and international opportunities.
